D棟殼牌故事館及藝文沙龍（原輕質汽油倉庫）

 D棟倉庫建於1930年代，平面七開間（長26.3m，寬11.6m），於殼牌公司

 時期儲存輕質汽油的「輕質汽油倉庫」 。屋架為20世紀初「近代建築」發

 展時期，為因應大跨距結構需求所設計的鋼桁架系統，在結構技術史上為

 重要史證之一。此外，由於本倉庫臨近淡水河沙岸地區，地質鬆軟，為防

 止地面部地面不均、下陷及龜裂，地坪乃採用厚達30公分的混凝土版的特

 殊結構設計。

 Building D Shell Story House and Cultural Arts Salon (former benzine storage)

 Building D was built in the 1930s and contains seven rooms (26.3m long x 11.6m wide).

 This building was mainly used by Shell to store benzine. The frame of the building uses

 a steel truss system developed in the early 20th century and designed to the needs of this

 wide span and provides important historical evidence of this architecture technique.

 Because the building is built close to the Tamsui River sandbank its floor is laid with 30cm

 thick slabs to prevent the foundation from sinking and cracking.
